Facility: Baylor Scott & White - Round Rock & Lakeway Departments: Interventional Radiology / Cath Lab Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Job Summary
Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Generalist RN to support clinical education and professional growth within our Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab teams. In this full-time role, you will use evidence-based educational practices to enhance nursing competence, strengthen clinical performance, and improve patient outcomes across our organization. The NPD Generalist collaborates with staff, leadership, faculty, and researchers to design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality professional development programs aligned with the ANPD Professional Practice Model and Baylor Scott & White?s Professional Practice standards.
Essential Functions
Develops, implements, and evaluates professional development programs that support continuous learning and clinical excellence.
Assesses educational needs by analyzing clinical trends, stakeholder input, and performance data; tailors content to targeted audiences.
Creates positive learning environments using evidence-based teaching strategies and adult learning principles.
Designs and delivers culturally sensitive educational activities based on practice gaps, research, and best-practice standards.
Measures educational outcomes using valid and reliable evaluation methods; updates programs using learner and stakeholder feedback.
Selects engaging, inclusive educational materials and supports partnerships with Community Education programs.
Upholds ethical principles, protects learner rights, and reports any illegal or unethical behavior.
Promotes scientific inquiry by supporting research, Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), and Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives, including dissemination of findings.
Key Success Factors
Strong understanding of nursing practice standards, patient care procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, dosing considerations, and risk-reduction strategies.
Familiarity with professional nursing ethics, patient privacy laws, and accreditation standards.
Ability to apply varied teaching methodologies to support diverse learning styles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
