Nemours is hiring a Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant. The ideal candidate will carry Physician Assistant duties as defined by the Cardiothoracic Surgeon(s) and work under the supervision of the Cardiothoracic Surgeon in the operating room, office and hospital setting(s) / nursing units. The incumbent will scrub in on cardiac, thoracic, and vascular OR cases as assigned/needed and demonstrates a proactive approach in preparation for each procedure. In addition, the Physician Assistant will function as a first assistant in surgery when assigned by providing adequate assistance, anticipating and showing initiative and surgical skill. The candidate must be able to provide and demonstrate complex surgical skills when assisting in surgery.
Requirements:
- Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies
- At least one year of related clinical experience required
- Demonstrable experience with clinical procedures
- Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Delaware Physician Assistant license
- Delaware Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
- Federal Drug Enforcement Agency Registration (DEA) with Delaware address
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification required
