We're looking for an experienced Cardiac Ultrasound Tech to join our extraordinary team at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health.
Job Summary:
Performs cardiac/vascular diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physicians; operates cardiac/vascular ultrasound diagnostic equipment, structured report/image management systems, performs diagnostic protocols in compliance with Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) standards. Familiar with operations of electrocardiograph (ECG) machine, holter and other event monitor systems, and stress test equipment.
Job Duties:
- Performs adult, pediatric and neonatal cardiac ultrasound.
- Documents echocardiography studies/images/measurements utilizing digital structured report image management system.
- Prepares patients and equipment for procedures; explains procedures to patients and/or families.
- May be asked to be cross-trained to perform non-invasive vascular diagnostic procedures.
- Assists with the orientation of healthcare students and nurses.
- Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work area. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager.
- Has good working knowledge of ECG and Echocardiographic interpretations
- Contacts physicians/offices with preliminary results/critical test results, as required.
- Ensures accuracy in the medication process, including transport, storage, security, and/or administration of medications to include IV solutions.
- Basic understanding of:
- Routine and STAT electrocardiographic procedures.
- Application and removal of holter monitors.
- Basic understanding of scheduling of patients, electronic filing, and distribution of reports.

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Able to demonstrate the ability to perform adult, pediatric and neonatal cardiac ultrasound.
High School Diploma
Registered by either Cardiology Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Certification in Basic Life Support.
