The Department of Cardiology is looking for a full-time Advanced Practice Provider to work with the Cardiac Consult Team. The role is responsible for providing consultative care on inpatients with cardiac history or disease, who are on units outside of the cardiac center (i.e. ED, PICU, Onco, etc). The APP works collaboratively with the attending cardiologist overseeing the consult service. Role will also include completing cardiac pre-operative evaluations for outpatients scheduled for cardiac surgery. This is a Monday through Friday position. Days/hours may be flexible.
- Practices collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality health care to children.
- Performs appropriate assessment of patient/family upon referral/admission.
- Performs ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress and revision of interdisciplinary plan of care.
- May use prescriptive authority if appropriately credentialed to do so. Utilizes appropriate medical staff for purposes of consultation and referral when necessary.
- Identifies patient/family need for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.
- Serves as a consultant within specialty area for colleagues both intra and extra departmentally and in the community.
REQUIREMENTS
Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants/Current appropriate national certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner
Clear and active license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Delaware/Delaware (or compact state) RN licensure & Delaware APRN Licensure
Current AHA BLS certification
