Apply to chat with a recruiter about the details! The Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) department at St. Anthony Hospital is a 24-bed ICU for patients with varied medical and surgical treatment needs. This includes recovering patients after open heart surgery and aortic repair. Cardiac devices include, but not limited to, Intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella and Left Ventricular Assist Devices. Patients with severe sepsis, abdominal surgery, acute respiratory diseases are also cared for within CSICU. Our associates work in a collaborative environment with multiple specialty providers and interventionalists. Our CSICU nurses actively use critical thinking while building on their skills. CSICU has developed multiple pathways to continually enrich and empower our associates. Job Summary: Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. Promotes the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
