UMass Chan Medical School/UMass Memorial Medical Center's (UMMMC) Structural Heart Disease program is seeking outstanding fellows who have already successfully completed Interventional Cardiology training for a one-year Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, starting July 2023. UMMMC is a nationally recognized academic medical center, affiliated with the UMass Chan Medical School and fostering one of the largest, intergrated multidisciplinary group medical practices on the East Coast.
This one-year UMMMC-sponsored, non-ACGME accredited, fellowship provides an extensive experience in transcatheter therapeutics including ASD/ PFO closure, mitral valve repair (MitraClip) and left atrial appendage occlusion (Watchman), with special emphasis on TAVR. Fellows will also have the opportunity to perform as independent interventional cardiologists in the academic supportive environment and gain experience in complex high-risk indicated patient (CHIP) PCI including intravascular imaging and mechanical hemodynamic support.
Applicants must be a) ABIM-certified in Cardiovascular Disease and have completed an ACGME-accredited Interventional Cardiology Fellowship by June 2023, B) Eligible for unrestricted medical license in the state of Massachusetts, and C) U.S. citizen or green card/HI visa holders.

This one-year Advanced Interventional Cardiology Fellowship provides training in structural heart disease decision making and interventions to outstanding fellows who have already successfully completed basic interventional cardiology training. The fellowship is based at the UMass Memorial Medical Center, a tertiary referral center serving the Central New England region.Our Advanced Interventional Cardiology Structural Heart fellows will receive a junior attending position. To be able to do the clinical work listed under program highlights prospective fellows can not be on a non-working Visa and will have to be able to obtain a full MA license. This fellowship does not sponsor H1Bs.
