Qualifications Here's What You Need
Associate degree Applied Science Req or
Other completion of accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology Req or
HS Diploma or Equivalent and 2 years work experience in invasive cardiology Req
One year experience preferred - two years Cath Lab experience strongly preferred
ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Req or
RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Upon Hire Req or
RCES Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist Upon Hire Req
CMRT Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT Upon Hire Req and
BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care maintained quarterly req
What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient and recognizes emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
Prepares room for examination
Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging
Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines
Performs complex procedures and adjusts technique parameters
Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed
