The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine, seeks candidates for an open rank, open track, Interventional Cardiologist to join its expanding Cardiology Division. The incumbent will be expected to provide clinical service in outpatient clinics and on inpatient units, will be responsible for performing invasive/interventional cardiovascular procedures, with an emphasis on diagnostic catheterization and coronary intervention, as well as providing care for patients with STEMI, acute coronary syndromes and cardiogenic shock. Candidates with additional interest in peripheral interventions and/or cardiac critical care or participation in the cardiogenic shock/mechanical circulatory support team will be of particular interest. This position does not involve participation in the structural heart program. The candidate will be expected to actively participate in clinical research programs, both independently and as part of multicenter trials, and will participate in the teaching program with cardiology fellows and medical house staff.
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology. Rank and tenure status will be determined depending upon qualifications.
