The Sibley Heart Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a general pediatric cardiologist. Work in an outpatient pediatric cardiology office to provide outpatient pediatric consultative and follow-up care for patients with suspected or proven cardiac issues.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the taking of pertinent history and performing a physical exam, performing and interpreting electrocardiograms and echocardiograms and interpreting Holter and cardiac event monitors. The physician is also expected to know the indications for and ordering of other specific testing modalities, interpreting the results and communicating the results with families and referring physicians.

In addition, the physician will be responsible to provide consultative and inpatient services including the ordering and interpretation and communication of tests and results at hospitals where they are asked to provide services by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Cardiology (CHCC). For this position, there will be an emphasis on in-house consultative services. Consultative services will also include coverage weeks at one of the nation's largest birthing centers (Northside Hospital) and at CHOA's Scottish Rite campus. Strong hands-on echocardiography skill is required for this position. The ability to perform and interpret fetal echocardiograms is desired for outpatient visits and consultations at outside hospitals/perinatology practices. This position also involves care of heart failure patients.

The physician must become competent and compliant with the electronic medical records, policies, and procedures of SHCC and hospitals that they have privileges in. The position involves navigation of multiple electronic medical records and echocardiography reporting systems.

This position is full-time.
