We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cardiovascular Technologist I- Part Time- Evening Shift.
In this role, the successful candidate carries out patient care responsibilities within the invasive cardiology suites; provides competent, safe and compassionate care based on established NYUHC Patient Care and Nursing Standards. As a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team participates in the provision of care under the supervision of the provider (physician or nurse practitioner) and registered nurses; Participates in the care of patients and families by completing assigned patient care tasks; provides competent, safe, and compassionate care with emphasis on an understanding of the challenges faced by hospitalization, undergoing procedures or diagnostic tests; provides support to the unit in the maintenance and safety of supplies, equipment and the environment; demonstrates NYULMC Core Values in all aspects of job performance.
Participates in the unit based quality and performance improvement program consistent with the clinical service and departmental program.
Considers needs and behaviors of specific patient age and cultural groups in all patient care activities.
Assists the interdisciplinary health care team during invasive cardiology procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Functions as a respectful member of the health care team.
Implements interventions identified in the plan of care.
Demonstrates ability to differentiate those activities which are CV-technologist practice and those that may be delegated to other staff.
Participate in a plan of care that prescribes intervention to attain expected outcomes.
Participates in quality improvement programs and activities that promote patient, family, physician and staff satisfaction.
Utilizes resources to meet individual learning need and promote professional development in clinical practice.
Demonstrates knowledge of the NYULMC Core Values and incorporates these into the performance of responsibilities.
Operates and maintains diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used for invasive cardiology procedures.
Participates in clinical inquiry and activities to foster evidence-bases practice.
Serves as a support and resource for other staff and students.
Collaborates with the members of the interdisciplinary team and promotes collegial relationships.
Obtain hemodynamic and radiologic data. Enter patient information and records procedural events in the electronic medical record. Analyzes technical data to report physiologic findings.
Maintains awareness of current evidence-based practice and uses research applicable to patient care.
Engages in self- assessment and participates in activities to promote own professional growth and development.
Participates in coordination of unit activities to provide patient care in a healing, humane and caring environment.
Collects patient healthcare data systematically and on an ongoing basis using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments.
Supports the mission, philosophy, standards, goals and objectives of the institution, the Departments of Nursing and NYU Langone Medical Center strategic area.
Acquires and maintains current knowledge and competence to fulfill responsibilities.
Associate Degree in Cardio Vascular Technology or high school diploma with a minimum of five years relevant and recent acute invasive cardiology cardiovascular technologist experience.Fluent written and spoken English language skills;Physical stamina, manual, dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities.
Membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred; Certification as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) preferred.
