Summary
The Assistant Nurse Manager is a professional nurse who manages the daily operations of a department (s)to provide services for patients while meeting quality, legal, organizational and medical staff goals.
The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for promoting the efficient operations to provide effective nursing care of a designated department (s).
The Assistant Nurse Manager manages the department independently under the guidance of an Manager.
Responsibilities

The Assistant Nurse Manager ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, JCAHO and the Nurse Practice Act.

The Assistant Nurse Manager promotes optimum health care delivery within budgetary guidelines.

Is responsible for department(s) on a 24 hour basis.
Qualifications:Education
Required: Academic degree in nursing
Preferred: Bachelors or Masters degree
Experience
Required: 1 year of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a leader or full time charge nurse/related position
Certifications
Required: Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy. CPR
