Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-time Cardiovascular Sonographer/ Echo Tech for the Echo Core Lab at Morristown Medical Center working 8-4pm primarily, including On-Call and weekends as required by the department.
The Cardiovascular Core Lab at Morristown Medical Center is an echocardiographic imaging core lab.Our mission is to provide high quality analysis and interpretation of the full range of echocardiographic studies, including 2D, 3D, strain, transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms. Some examples include: structure and function of native and prosthetic cardiac valves, cardiac chamber size and function, and integrity of device therapy for structural heart disease. Our team also has extensive clinical experience with imaging related to mechanical circulatory support, percutaneous and surgical valve therapies, and a full range of structural heart disease interventions.
Responsibilities
The Cardiovascular Core Lab has multiple reading stations with the latest generation echocardiographic analysis software (Philips, Siemens, GE, TomTec).
The Cardiovascular Core Lab provides:
- Research protocol development.
- Clinical site training.
- Ongoing imaging analysis and reporting.
Essential Job Function:
- The Ultrasound Tech performs the preliminary measurements on the research cardiac images.
- Each patient subject has multiple points of measurement depending on the study requirements.
- Performs comprehensive echocardiogram exams, following established IAC protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform and report appropriate echocardiogram examinations.
- Assisting with continuing quality assurance and performance improvement in the Echo Lab department.
- Completing clerical tasks associated with echo exams; completing and recording all testing information accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Maintaining pleasant and informative manner in communicating with patients, family members, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
- Working cooperatively with other department members in scheduling of diagnostic procedures.
- Ensuring effective communication intra/inter departmentally and participating on committees and projects as requested.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
License/Certification
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) credentialed
- Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
