Position Summary

This position performs diagnostic cardiac sonography examinations and cardiology procedures to provide data for diagnosis of disease and injuries in accordance with all applicable standards, regulations, and licensing requirements.

Education

• Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited cardiac sonography program or 10 years experience in cardiac ultrasound. (Preferred)

Experience

• Equivalent experience to 3 years full time pediatric cardiac sonography. (Required)
• Equivalent experience to 1 year full time fetal cardiac sonography. (Preferred)
• Endorsement from the clinical leadership at Phoenix Children’s Hospital with input from the medical director(s). (Required)

Certifications

• ARDMS RDCS-Pediatric (RDCS PE) or CCI Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS). (Required)
• ARDMS RDCS-Fetal (RDCS FE) (Preferred)
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)
• Membership to professional societies (e.g. ASE, SDMS, AIUM, etc.) (Preferred)

Special Skills

• Shares on call duties with peers after hours and on weekends and holidays. Works independently in satellite locations. (Required)
• Demonstrates a willingness to work in unassigned areas to balance work amongst staff. (Required)
• Demonstrates a willingness to be flexible with scheduling work assignments. (Required)
• Ability to maintain a positive professional demeanor in stressful situations. (Required)
