The incumbent physician provides comprehensive patient care in the form of invasive, non-invasive, consultative, and inpatient and outpatient cardiology care at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System (CVHCS). The incumbent reports to the Chief of Medical Service and ensures the most effective patient care in services within Medical Service is delivered. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Collaborate with midlevel providers and physician colleagues with clear communication and documentation. Performs the administrative components of patient care management, such as: Participates in the educational programs for the section personnel as well as the medical staff. Participates in monitoring the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care, both at the Section and facility level. Miscellaneous activities of the Medical Service inclusive, but not limited to special projects that help fulfill and/or enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs as assigned by the Chief of Cardiology, Chief of Medicine, Chief of Staff and/or the Central Virginia VA Health Care System Executive Leadership. Attends Cardiology team meetings. Demonstrates ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization. Participates in quality assurance programs and chart reviews. Attends Medicine Service monthly staff meetings and COS quarterly meetings as per bylaws. Completes medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff. Participates in Medical Staff committee assignments. Performs other duties assigned by the Chief of Medicine or his Associate. Participates in, and attends, CME activities and VA continuing educational activities. Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
