The Cardiovascular Technician II partners with physicians and staff to assist with scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. The Cardiovascular Technician II assists in all aspects of department's invasive and noninvasive procedures, participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
Provides aseptic assistance to the physician on all procedures including identifying the appropriate procedure to be performed, preparing equipment for procedures to include cleanliness of exam area and equipment.
Evaluates and attends to the patient’s physical and emotional needs before, during and after procedures to ensure proper patient care and positive examination experience.
Demonstrate proficient operational knowledge and understanding of current equipment as appropriate to contribute to the success of patient care goals.
Assists with all procedures in Invasive Cardiology and patient care in the Cath Lab, including set-up and prepping of procedural site and training of new staff.
Demonstrates proficient knowledge and efficient utilization of supplies and supply management systems to ensure timely and accurate patient billing, prompt re-ordering, and rapid re-stocking.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of procedures and techniques related to Invasive Cardiology through inservices, conferences and other educational opportunities
Maintains a safe, clean and efficient working environment; provides safe equipment operation through proper maintenance and care; Keeps work area and equipment neat and clean at all times
