Medical Instrument Technician (Cardiac Catherization/Electrophysiology)
Advanced Cardiac Catheterization Technicians scrub, circulate, and operate both electrical and physiologic monitoring equipment as well as single and bi-plane fluoroscopic equipment for the most complex examination and treatment procedures including endocardial biopsy, cryoablation and radio frequency ablation procedures, intra-aortic balloon pump, ventricular assist devices, and transcatheter aortic valve replacements for very critical patients. The cardiovascular technologist performs invasive cardiovascular procedures utilizing highly complex and technical monitoring equipment under the direction or prescription of a qualified physician.
