The Cardiology unit at the University of Minnesota Medical Center is looking for a Nursing Unit Lead to help guide the team on the night shift. This unit helps adult patients with heart conditions, heart and lung transplants, surgeries, chest pains, heart failures and rhythm issues.
The Nursing Unit Lead assists the Nurse Manager with assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to meet the mission and goals of patient and family centered care & service excellence for assigned unit.
They will assist the Nurse Manager with planning, directing, implementing and evaluating orientation, educational and staffing/budget activities for the unit.
They will supervise nursing personnel, monitor daily staffing and create an environment of collaborative teamwork that maximizes productivity.
They will also serve as role model in patient care delivery, leadership and quality assurance monitoring.
Bachelors degree in Nursing
Active MN RN License
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare provider certification.
3-5 years of current clinical experience as an RN
2 years of management, leadership or charge nurse experience, or committee/preceptor or similar experience.
3-5 years of leadership experience.
Demonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations.
