Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations independently with a high level of competence and professionalism to all types of patients regardless of age. This includes, but may not be limited to the following: 2D echo, M-Mode, Doppler Study, Trans-esophageal (TEE) echo, Stress echo, Dobutamine stress echo. Must demonstrate good organizational skills in order to maintain efficient workflow and adaptability in accommodating emergency and add-on exams. Reports directly to the Director of Cardiovascular Services and is accountable for the delivery of efficient, high quality services to the patient, physician and all customers within the protocols and guidelines set by the Department of Cardiovascular Services. He/she has the responsibility of protection and safety to themselves, the patients and co-workers. Technologists are required to participate in on-call coverage for the modality as part of the essentials of the job requirement.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):
Graduate of an approved Program of Ultrasonography
ARDMS (AE) and/or CCI (RCS) certified
Minimum 1 year previous experience
Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required
