Clinical Staff Leader - RN Registered Nurse Medical/ Surgical/ Telemetry 2 North (Cardiac Unit) Penn State Health St. Joseph (Reading, PA )
The Clinical Staff Leader - RN Registered Nurse is responsible for assisting in supervising nursing staff; for providing leadership and orientation to nursing personnel; and for performing a variety of nursing duties in order to coordinate the delivery of care to patients.
T he percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
M ake daily rounds for assigned patients. Assess patient and family needs. Collaborate with the medical staff concerning plan of care for patients.
P rovide direct patient treatment and care. Educate patient/family.
S erve as a role model for nursing staff in providing patient care.
S erve as a resource person to staff members.
A ssist in supervising the daily activities of the nursing staff. May participate in hiring, training, counseling, and evaluating staff.
M ake daily work assignments.
P articipate in interdisciplinary rounds, and physician rounds, if possible.
M eet regularly with supervisor concerning patient situations, to resolve clinical, and administrative problems.
A ssist the nursing staff in evaluating and implementing patient care needs.
M anage daily operation of the unit in the absence of supervisor.
S erve on assigned committees.
Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse- RN by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. 2 years of related work experience required.
